Teknaf is a sub-district of Cox’s Bazar district. Most southern tip point of Bangladesh and an old-world border town. Teknaf is located on the Naaf river and just at the tip of the hilly area of Cox’s Bazar. Geographically it is a lovely place for the local and foreign travelers. Winter and Autumn is the best time for visit this place.
The scenic and enchanting beauty of River Naff and the hills are very attractive. There is a Spring about 8 km away from the center of the city. It has also a reserve forest namely “Teknaf Nature Park”. Shahparirdip is the last land part of Bangladesh which is 17 km south from Teknaf center. One of the largest Jetty ghat having a length of 600 metres is also constructed for the tourist visit.
Teknaf is 92 km south of Cox’ Bazar, on the southern tip of the narrow strip of land near Myanmar. Teknaf is beside the river of Naf. Naf River is the border of Myanmar and Bangladesh. The entrance of this town is a hilly area and people visit this point to enjoy Naf river from the top of the hill. Elephants live in this area and this is a reserved forest area for Elephants.
Teknaf sea beach is very enjoyable for it’s blue and clear water. Mathin’s ring-well and Shah Pori Island are quite the tourist attractions also. Teknaf hill area and nature park are favorite to the adventure lover tourist. Elephant are available in this area. There are some caves in this area.
There is a nice Motel beside the hill and the Naf river. Cheaper hotel and restaurants are also here. It takes 2 hours by bus or Micro bus from Cox’s Bazar. From Dhaka there are also direct Bus services for Teknaf . All ships for going Saint martin’s Island starts from Tekanf.
